Ignite Foundation CIC are thrilled to have delivered a new dance competition in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster! This unique platform for grassroots dance talent took place on Friday 12th July 2019 at the prestigious Cadogan Hall in Sloane Square.
Dance and arts programs provide creative outlets that build resilience and enrich opportunities for children and youth (ages 7-19 and up to 25 with LLDD) in our communities. Responding to the needs of schools and community groups in our network, they created Dance Energy, a new dance platform connecting community members with leading dance industry professionals. Their programme provides access to dance classes, immersive dance experiences and shows that explore dance as a form of community engagement, enjoyment, fitness and expanding career pathways. Featuring an inclusive platform tailored to the specific needs of young people in the local area, Dance Energy emphasizes creativity, diversity, and building professional networks for our youth. The programme welcomes young people from a variety of dance backgrounds with the ability to either build on previous dance foundations or explore new opportunities of creative expression.
Dance Energy creates partnerships with primary, secondary schools and community groups culminating in a live dance showcase. This unique experience gives children and young people the chance to work on a dance piece in the style of their choice. Event participants had the opportunity to perform and compete in a full stage production in front of family and friends, supported by and with guest appearances from illustrious dance industry professionals. Included in this event are donated prizes such as scholarships to Pineapple Arts School Summer programme, masterclasses at BASE, tickets to see dance shows and much more!
