‘As a writer and creative talent Nick Field has a gift’ One Stop Arts
What can music tell us about how communities come together? In this new work in progress performance, Nick Field muses on the journey so far to explore this question. Along the way, drawing on the musical legacy of Portobello Road and working with local community choirs, Nick made some surprising, and life-changing, discoveries. Through songs, stories and theatre, Songs That Nobody Taught Me explores and challenges ideas around the places we come from, identity & the things that get passed on between generations. With a collection of songs as eclectic as the area around the Westway Estate, Nick asks how community and music affect us as we piece together our lives.
