Take part in a drag king flash mob!

Are you a young woman or non-binary person who identifies as LGBTQIA+ or an ally and would like to get involved?

Through workshops you will get to work with PECS drag king Thrustin Limbersnake and hip hop choreographer Elsabet Yonas (who’s work you can see here) to develop a new performance to be performed on the 20 March in Portobello, West London.

In February and March 2020 we are running a workshop with young people to introduce you to the themes and forms and use a co-design process to explore what MANIFEST will be.

“We hope that this project will be the first phase of a larger process. Long term we want to work with groups across London to run workshops exploring key project themes, bringing these groups together to stage public drag king performances and interventions in key sites of power across the city, e.g. parliament square, the financial district. We will take the workshop process, performative style, and project structure developed as part of MANIFEST on with us into this larger work. We hope that the groups and young people we work with at this stage will continue to be part of the work in future iterations.” Produced Moon

Produced Moon are hugely excited to be supported by the Westway Trust Artist Commissions Programme and Arts Council England to research and develop this new participatory project exploring the politics of gender in public space.
